Spirit of Tasmania has announced the addition of eight extra day sailings to its schedule in January, February, April and May 2025.
These sailings are in addition to the already increased number of crossings scheduled over the peak season, ensuring suitable access to our service for all who need it.
The extra capacity will particularly benefit passengers travelling with caravans and high vehicles, significantly reducing waitlist bookings for these customers.
Spirit of Tasmania anticipates that, by early next week, waitlist bookings will drop to below 100, with many of those remaining holding confirmed bookings and simply seeking preferred travel dates.
These additional sailings also respond to recent schedule adjustments by SeaRoad Shipping, due to the dry docking of one of its vessels, which is expected to impact Tasmania’s freight services.
Spirit of Tasmania is actively participating in industry forums and working closely with stakeholders to address these freight needs and support a seamless experience for all customers.
Kym Sayers, Acting CEO of Spirit of Tasmania, said: “These extra sailings reflect our dedication to ensuring availability and responsive service for our passengers and freight partners.
“We’re constantly monitoring the situation and adjusting our schedule to meet both immediate and future demands.
“Our teams across the business have been working tirelessly to make these swift adjustments, and we’re engaging with stakeholders to uncover further opportunities for assistance where possible.”
