Spirit of Tasmania’s Flavours of Tassie is back again for 2018, with a stellar line up of Tasmanian producers participating in the program in the coming months.
Running from May until October this year, Flavours of Tassie has been showcasing gourmet Tasmanian producers on board Spirit of Tasmania vessels since 2013.
A fantastic introduction to Tasmania and its products, the unique initiative enables passengers to meet the makers behind the labels, sample and learn about the love that goes into the fine products.
Spirit of Tasmania’s General Manager Retail & Hospitality Nick Harriman said they were proud to excite passengers with a personal producer experience before they drive off and explore the state.
“We are really proud to be showcasing such fantastic suppliers from Tasmania” he said. “I am sure our passengers will love getting to know them, and their products, when they travel.”
To celebrate the launch Flavours of Tassie 2018, previous participants Lark Distillery have placed a whisky cask on board each ship to mature at sea for the next two years.
“We're extremely excited to be participating in the Flavours of Tassie program this year. It's the perfect opportunity to introduce the world to the incredible producers we have here in Tasmania, and give a little snapshot into the passion and craftsmanship of our products and people” said Lark representative Jemima Phelps.
“Having our casks maturing on Spirit of Tasmania is a wonderful extension of that; they're joining on that adventure with the travellers and the ships, and we're thrilled to be on board”.Flavours of Tassie runs from 1 May until 31 October 2018 with more than 60 producers booked for 2018.
